Installing software without DVD (Rosetta Rock)
I accept Rosetta Rock (version 3) on my old laptop. I got a new laptop only I can't observe the DVDs anywhere and I actually want to accept information technology on my laptop earlier I go on a long journey (30 hours) and so I can keep myself occupied. When I try to copy the Rosetta Rock folder to an external hardrive onto my new laptop information technology's missing the language files. Anyone know which files I have to copy from my old laptop onto the new one? My old laptop is Win XP new ane is Win vii. Thanks!
Oh also on my new laptop doesn't take a CD ROM bulldoze so I would still need to copy the files to my external hardrive in one case I find the DVDs in social club to install it so any help would be appreciated.

Hmmm I didn't ask for a pirated copy non sure why yous jumped to that supposition. I have the DVDs which I paid for, it's already on my laptop I'm asking how I tin can become information technology on my new laptop if doesn't have a DVD player...eventually I volition find the DVDs (they're packed in a box somewhere as I recently moved). In the mean fourth dimension I'one thousand asking which files I need to copy over from my one-time laptop onto my new ane for my upcoming trip. My old laptop is as well big and heavy (and deadening) to accept with me plus the battery life is pretty bad.

Yea, my bad if yous took my wording the incorrect mode. I did information technology intentionally. Unfortunately, only fashion to install something y'all own without using whatsoever re-create protection nor the original media disk is using something by someone who had already 'croaky' information technology. That's the easiest way I see you lot installing on your computer without DVD drive and you lot missing your DVD media. Or you lot demand to contact Rosetta Stone for digital version.
Another way you can practice is really finding the DVD media and re-create all the content to your harddrive and pray there is no copy protection on information technology.

Ohhh ok thank you. Hmmm I wish there was a fashion to just copy everything over from my one-time hard bulldoze to the new. I don't think Rosetta Rock offers a digital version only I will check - that sucks considering many new laptops don't take a DVD histrion so that means I'm stuck using it just on my quondam laptop. Thank you for your help.

In about cases you can't just motility software to some other calculator by simply re-create/pasting the installation files...some simpler software, yes, simply nearly have stuff in multiple folders as well as the registry. However if you exercise discover your install disks, and so you shouldn't have a problem installing it to the new computer...Ordinarily you lot tin can merely copy the files to a USB stick or hard bulldoze, or in the worst case you can brand an .iso of it and mount it equally a virtual drive in the new computer.

You're not pirating if you already ain a license to the aforementioned version. "Acquire" the ISOs from elsewhere and use your keys.

Use the search part on the computer and search for the following without quotes ":
"rosetta"
"*.rsd"
"*.swa"
Worth a effort but usually you would have to re-install the program anyways. Using another .iso with your own purchased keys is a good idea.

Another choice would be to transfer the whole old laptop into a VM box into the new laptop and use Rosetta Stone from in that location. In Win7 u tin can use a program installed in Windows XP Mode directly from Win7 desktop. Of course it's not worth the time and trouble if you only need this software but if u want to go rid of the old laptop and need other programs too requite it a try

My new Macbook Pro doesn't accept a DVD slot; I just bought a portable DVD reader to plug in when I demand it.

Easiest? Copy the files straight from the deejay to a folder on the hard drive using another estimator...in most cases this works. If it doesn't, then use ImgBurn to make an ISO, then Daemon Tools to mount it as a virtual drive on the new computer.

Scycotic answer is too the one I recommend.
I accept ISO-imaged most of my applications which were originally on DVD/CD
They all sit on my NAS at present.

I actually copied the files directly to my hardrive and it did install nevertheless when the option comes to install language it can't observe the CD histrion - I only have the choice to "effort once more" or "return to add together/remove languages". Does this mean I take to have ISO image as you lot guys suggested? I don't desire to run into the same problem.

Yeah, the ISO method should resolve that.
